Twin Cities VegFest 2018

This year, we decided to go to the Twin Cities VegFest which was at Harriet Island. VegFest is unique as it showcases vegan cuisine. Vegan cuisine does not use animal products and is plant-based.

VegFest was such a great experience. We were able to try a few foods before we got full. There were a lot of free samples and other exhibitors. The longs were so long even though there were a lot of food vendors.

Here are a few foods that we tried:

We tried carrots with hot Korean sauce. The Korean sauce is called K-Mama Sauce which you can buy from Lunds and Byerlys. We also tried the vegan chocolate chip cookies from J-Selbys. It was super delicious and soft.

The line for K-Town Street Food Truck was super long but it was worth the wait. The tofu kimchi fries were tasty and had a interesting texture. We asked for the spicy sauce which gave it a spicy kick. I would have loved it to be more spicier.

We got this vegan nachos from Evan's Organic Eatery. It was an interesting taste with hummus, berries, guacamole, almonds, tomatoes and cabbage mixed with nacho chips. After we finished eating this, we were already really full.

The last thing we tried was wings at These Wingz. The wings are seitan based which is high in protein but low in fat. It was covered in sweet heat sauce which was really enjoyable.
