Day 2 was our last night in Reykjavik. We decided to spend it seeing touristy places and walking around the neighborhoods.
We started the day walking from our airbnb to the bay area of Reykjavik. We took the shore walk all the way around. The view of the bay area was definitely very beautiful.
SUN VOYAGER & HARPER CONCERT HALL
The Sun Voyager had a lot of tourists taking pictures. One thing we noticed were some tourists going up, touching and taking pictures of the sculpture up close while others were complaining that tourists should not touch the sculptures.
The Harpa Concert Hall is free to get in. The building architecture was interesting and there were a lot of tourists visiting the concert hall.
HALLGRIMSKIRKJA CHURCH
HallgrÃmskirkja Church is Reykjavik's main landmark and its tower can be seen from almost everywhere in the city.
You can go all the way up the tower but you'll have to pay a fee to get in. We decided to pass on climbing the tower.
The church is definitely worth visiting especially since the architecture is very beautiful.
PERLAN MUSEUM
Perlan Museum is a building on the top of a hill in the center of Reykjavik with a 360 degree deck. The highlight of the museum was the ice cave and the view on top of the building. It definitely shows how big and beautiful Reykjavik is.
FOOD
We decided to try Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur which they're known for the hot dogs. Their hot dogs are lamb-based with pork and beef. They're served in a bun with your choice of condiments: ketchup, sweet mustard, remoulade, crisped fried onion and raw onion. Get everything on it. Definitely worth it.
We made a stop at Joylato for some sweet crepes! I got the berries crepe while E opted for chocolate. It was definitely sweet and very delicious.
Reykjavik Chips has some of the best fries and sauces. We got regular ketchup for E and spicy sauce for me.
Lastly, we had a light dinner at Kaffitar at the Perlan Museum. We shared a chicken avocado sandwich. We also ordered a cookie, swiss mocha and a macchiato to end our night.
On day 3, we leave Reykjavik and head out on the Ring Road.
