DIY Money Cake

Updated: Jan 27, 2019

I love making money cakes. It's one of the easiest DIY projects I've ever done. It's also a nice gift for birthdays, graduations, weddings and more. People love money and lottery scratch offs so it's a good feeling to see their faces when they see a money cake as their gift!

Depending how big you want it to be will depend on how much cash you'll need. Once you figure that out, you can roll depending how much cash you're using. If you're only doing $50, the rolls will be bigger but if you're doing over $100 then roll the dollar bill smaller.

Be creative! You can origami your dollar bills for effect or you can use ribbons and fake flowers to create a nice money cake as well.

Don't forget to top it off with lottery scratch offs. It brings the whole cake together.

MATERIALS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Start out by rolling all your dollar bills and binding each one with a rubber band.

  2. Build your base buy wrapping each base with paper or gift wrap. Then tape or glue each base on top of each other to form a cake.

  3. Put the dollar bills on each base with glue dots or glue gun so it sticks onto the base side. Do this until the bases are covered.

  4. Use ribbons to cover the rubber bands of the dollar bills. It will also create a nice look on the cake.

  5. Add any other decorations to make the cake look nice.

  6. Add lottery scratch offs on top.

Happy crafting!
